This policy explains how Just Us: You & I ("Just Us", "we", or "us") handles information when adults use the Just Us mobile application and related services.
Information we collect
Account information
We collect an email address, display name, date of birth, account identifiers, authentication records, time-zone offset, and an optional in-app character configuration. Date of birth is used to enforce the app's 18-and-older requirement.
Relationship and user content
When you use Just Us, you may provide partner-link information, relationship goals, preferences, prompt answers, messages, activity selections, plans, journal entries, check-ins, reflections, generated scripts, feedback, and progress. A city may be provided voluntarily for nearby date ideas.
Technical and usage information
We process device notification tokens, feature interactions, completion history, and security events. For security and abuse prevention, we may retain a one-way hash of an IP address rather than the address itself.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, synchronize partner experiences, and deliver requested features.
- Personalize prompts, activities, educational content, and plans.
- Send transactional email and optional push notifications.
- Maintain progress, improve reliability, prevent fraud, and protect the service.
- Respond to support requests and comply with applicable law.
Partner sharing and private content
Just Us is designed around deliberate sharing. Private journal entries remain private. Prompt answers are revealed under the app's reveal rules, and preference matching is designed to show mutual overlap rather than an individual partner's rejected choices. Other content is shared only when a feature clearly indicates that it will be sent to a connected partner.
Service providers
We use service providers for cloud hosting and databases, transactional email, Apple Push Notification service, and security operations. Features that generate personalized recommendations or plans may send the minimum relevant context to a configured artificial-intelligence provider, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. These providers process information on our behalf under their applicable service terms.
We do not sell personal information, serve third-party advertising, or track users across other companies' apps and websites.
Security
We use transport encryption, password hashing, field-level encryption for sensitive stored content, access controls, and audit logging. No system can guarantee absolute security, so users should avoid entering information they do not want stored or shared through a selected feature.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while an account is active and as needed to provide the service. Users can export their information or permanently delete their account from Settings. Account deletion removes the user record and user-owned content from the active service. Non-identifying security events and temporary backups may remain for a limited period when required for security, recovery, or legal obligations.
Your choices
Settings include controls for partner visibility, data sharing, analytics preferences, discreet Ghost Mode, data export, and account deletion. Notification permissions can also be changed in iOS Settings.
Age requirement
Just Us is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
International processing and changes
Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the effective date when we do.
